When you’re moving to another home, you’ll have to pack the small beauty products that are in your bathroom as well as your toiletries. These are often items that you might not want to put in larger boxes with clothing and linens or with items that can get broken during the move. Your beauty products and toiletries should be packed in a small bag so that you can keep everything with you in the vehicle or in a container with a lid so that everything is protected while it’s on the truck or in another part of the car. Try to pack your beauty products last so that you can secure these items and keep them from getting broken since many of these products are fragile. Here are some tips from Cleveland moving companies for packing your make-up and other beauty supplies:

Get The Air Out

Before you pack any of your beauty supplies, open the lids of plastic containers to squeeze as much air out of them as possible. If the vehicle gets warm inside, then the air can expand, which can then cause the bottles to swell and rupture. Changes in pressure can also result in leakage.

Wrap Bottles

Glass bottles should be wrapped to prevent them from breaking. Materials that can be used to wrap these beauty products include newspaper, plastic storage bags or even socks that you need to take with you to your new home anyway. If you decide to use socks to wrap your beauty products, don’t put the socks in a box with other clothing. Another option is to wrap your beauty products in socks and then put them in slippers or shoes. Keep your shoes and slippers in a separate box that is clearly labeled.

Plastic Wrap

You can keep a lot of your beauty products from spilling by removing the lids and putting plastic wrap between the bottle and the lid. The plastic will settle into the top of the bottle, and when you put the lid back on, the product inside won’t leak out as easily.

Two Bags

Consider using two bags when you pack your beauty products. It’s better to have more protection from spills than to not have enough and end up with makeup and other products all over the other items in the box. This is another reason as to why you want to pack your beauty products separately instead of in a larger box with clothing or decorations for your home.

Divide and Conquer

You can get cardboard to create dividers in a box for packing beauty products. This will allow you to stand each product up so that it doesn’t fall over. You can also easily keep everything from hitting against each other and possibly breaking. Plastic wrap along the edges of the cardboard is a way to offer added protection for the items that you pack, especially if you put everything in a plastic tote that has sturdy sides instead of a cardboard box with softer sides.
